Worked as a Lecturer(and HOD) in Information Technology department in Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University for many years.
Joined Islamic International University of Madinah as Head of Technical Writing in 2014.
Appointed as the Director General(DG)/CEO of the National Information Technology Development Agency(NITDA) by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2016. He served
the post between 26 September 2016 to 20 August 2019 and was succeeded by Inuwa Kashifu Abdullahi.
After being nominated, he became the Honorable Minister of Communications and Digital Economy on 21st August 2019 till date.
